Lost Warld
From Junker Wiki
Lost Warld was Hideo Kojima's first attempt at directing a videogame. It was planned to be a top-down action game for the MSX, starring a female masked wrestler in an "Indiana Jones setting".
It was also intended to be a homage to Super Mario Bros. The use of the word "Warld" in the title is not a typo, but rather a combination of the words "war" and "world", to suggest an anarchic futuristic world, torn by war. Ideas like these were kept for the idea of Outer Heaven in Kojima's next game, Metal Gear.
Lost Warld was cancelled by Konami, in 1986. It was scrapped as Kojima's plans were too grand to be effectively carried out on the MSX. Kojima has said that the game was intended to include cut scenes, which were very uncommon for action games at the time. Understanding of the difficulties of making a high-action war game with many active enemies on screen was one of the key influences behind the development of Metal Gear. Very little has ever been detailed about Lost Warld, but it has remained a source of fascination for many fans.
